Branched biopolyesters from agrifood processing byproducts via sudden supercritical water hydrolysis
Bio
María José Cocero is Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Valladolid, PressTech Director of The BioecoUva Research Institute and BioEcouva President of the Working Party on High Pressure Technology of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering. She is also the regional editor for Europe of the Journal of Supercritical Fluids. Her expertise lays in the development of processes and products in the field of Bioeconomy. Examples are the ultrafast biomass fractionation process in supercritical water, the intensification of processes through the implementation of new technologies (such as microwave pre-treatment processes for the extraction of value-added compounds) and the development of biobased materials using supercritical fluids (such as biobased polymers). She has supervised 43 doctoral theses.
